Philip Andreae

    At Oberthur Technologies, Philip Andreae, Vice President, Field Marketing, Payment, North America, provides clients an in-depth understanding of EMV and what it takes to introduce EMV in the U.S. He supports all of Oberthur Technologies’ EMV business development efforts and compliments and further expands and defines the company’s EMV offer in order to meet new requirements merging in the U.S. Philip is also the Secretary of the Board of the FIDO Alliance. Over the last 20+ years, Philip has been actively involved in the payment industry and the evolution of EMV. While at Europay International, he was the executive responsible for driving the creation of the consortium that developed the EMV specification. At Visa Canada, Philip was a primary catalyst in the country’s migration to EMV. He helped define American Express’ global acquiring and issuing of EMV contact, contactless, and mobile strategies and provided management consulting and subject matter expertise in the fields of EMV, mobile, and card payments at Accenture. Philip successfully operated as a strategic consultant in both Europe and North America and worked with clients such as AT&T, Canadian Tire, Lowe’s, Verifone, and IBM.

    Deborah Baxley

    Deborah Baxley is an international mobile/cards payment consultant, recognized expert in the industry, creator of growth strategies for new and existing markets with more than 20 years’ experience consulting to cards and payment companies. She specializes in retail financial services, mobile payments, credit cards, technology strategy and business model development. Through her work in fifteen countries, she has advised issuers, acquirers, networks and processors on product direction and competitive positioning, delivering millions of dollars in new revenue or operating cost savings. As board member of Smart Card Alliance, member US Federal Reserve Faster Payments Taskforce, co-founder of NYPAY and through frequent keynote speaking and writing, she is recognized for insights on the future of retail payments. Some of her most recent articles include “Blockchain’s Disruption of Banking Has Already Begun,” in PaymentSource, and “Apple Pay, a catalyst for the contactless industry” in TechRadar. She is a featured expert on PR Marketplace.

    Francois Baylot

    Product Manager, Thales

      Francois BAYLOT is heading fare collection strategy & product policy of Thales. Francois has taken an active leadership role within Thales to make Thales’ TransCity solution one of the most complete and state-of-the-art available in the market. Francois was previously in charge of fare collection Innovation within Thales. During more than 10 years, Francois directed projects, in particular for the nationwide fare collection of the Netherlands, one of the largest interoperable solutions worldwide. Francois was also involved in various ticketing projects, such as in Denmark, Dubai, Auckland or South Africa. Before joining Thales, Francois worked in various positions for Bull, Motorola and Oberthur Technologies.

      Marcelo Bellini Garcia

      Marcelo Bellini Garcia started his career in 1993 in Computer Design Systems, he joined Morpho in 1998 as sales manager. In 2001 he was appointed Sales and Marketing Director and later VP Sales Payment in South America. In 2011 Marcelo was relocated to Colombia and worked as Managing Director of Morpho Cards de Colombia. In 2014 Marcelo was relocated to the USA and worked for Morpho NA as Managing Director and VP Sales Payment. Since July 2015 Marcelo has been appointed Managing Director of Morpho do Brasil SA and VP Sales Latam Region. Marcelo Bellini was a founder member and the first Chairman of Smart Card Alliance in 2008-2009.

      Troy Bernard

      Director, Strategic Marketing and Products, CPI Card Group

      With nearly 20 years of payments experience, Troy Bernard leads marketing and product development at CPI Card Group, which includes EMV, mobile payments, and instant card issuance. Prior to joining CPI in 2015, Bernard served as Director of Digital Payments for Discover Global Network, where he managed the commercialization efforts of the Discover Digital Exchange, a digital mobile payments tokenization and provisioning engine that powers Discover’s participation in Apple Pay and other third-party wallets. From 2010 to 2014, Bernard was director of Discover’s Chip Center of Excellence, responsible for the global EMV and NFC payment product strategy, deployment, and technology across the Discover and Diners Club payment networks. Troy has been a member of the Smart Card Alliance for over 10 years and served as a Board member during his time at Discover Global Network. During this time, he and his team contributed to a large number of work products and recruited new SCA members. In addition to serving on the SCA Board, Troy led Discover’s efforts to become the 1/6th shareowner of EMVCo®, and subsequently was appointed as their representative on the EMVCo Board of Managers and Executive Committee.

        Senior Manager, Discover Global Network

          David Bibby is a member of the EMVCo Board of Managers, representing Discover Global Network. David is currently Senior Manager in the Discover Chip Centre of Excellence and leads Discover’s product management team, which develops and manages contact and contactless EMV products for Discover Global Network and its global partners. During a career in the chip card industry spanning more than 20 years he has worked for payment schemes and technology vendors in technical and product management roles. David holds a BSc in physics from King’s College, London.

            As Chief Technology Officer at the MBTA, David Block-Schachter works on projects that make the T easier to use.                                                                                                   Cindy Kohler is a Senior Director in Visa Inc. U.S. Chip Product Office. In this role, Cindy is responsible for managing acceptance U.S. chip test tool solutions and testing requirements for contact and contactless chip. Over the last few years she worked on initiatives to streamline Visa Inc. U.S. chip terminal testing processes to remove redundancies and inefficiencies reducing client resource time and testing requirements. She identified a recommended minimum set of test scripts for minimum online and Quick Chip configured terminals. Cindy established Visa Chip Bytes, a series of brief webcasts about EMV chip-related topics and also developed and implemented Visa Chip Vendor Enabled Service and Visa U.S Chip Acquirer Self-Accreditation Program. Both U.S. programs simplify acquirers’ contact and contactless chip testing processes, expands resources and allows for more flexibility. She also administers the Visa Accredited EMV Consultant Program which supports U.S. clients with their EMV chip migration.

                                                                                                                                                            Head of Discover Chip Center of Excellence, Discover Global Network

                                                                                                                                                              Ellie Smith, a 15 year payments industry veteran, is the Head of the Chip Center of Excellence for Discover Global Network. In this capacity, Ellie is responsible for leading the contact and contactless EMV programs across Discover, Diners Club and PULSE networks. She manages EMV product strategy, leads policy development, and drives optimization of critical vendor programs. Ellie’s team also partners closely with issuers, acquirers, and merchants globally to enable the successful implementation and rollout of advanced payment technologies. Prior to joining Discover Global Network, Ellie was a consultant focused on payment-related projects, and also worked for nearly 10 years at American Express with significant time spent in the emerging payments area. Ellie sits on the EMVCo Executive Committee and is also a member of the EMV Migration Forum (EMF) Steering Committee. Ellie holds a BS from the University of Iowa and is a Certified Training Director.

                                                                                                                                                                Chandra Srivastava is currently working in the Digital Merchant Products group at Visa Inc., leading the Integrated Commerce initiative. Prior to working for Visa, he worked with Softcard to develop commerce solutions for their NFC wallet. Chandra also held product leadership positions at ViVOtech to develop mobile NFC payment platform, Commerce One, VeriFone and Tandem Computers. Chandra has been actively involved with various Smart Card Alliance initiatives.

                                                                                                                                                                  Sree Swaminathan works as a Director of Digital Commerce Solutions at First Data. He specializes in new product development in Mobile, NFC, Tokenization, Payment security and other emerging payment solutions. He has been with First Data since 2002 and instrumental in various Trusted Service Manger (TSM), Mobile, EMV payment initiatives at First Data. Besides payment innovation initiatives, he also provides consultancy and implementation strategies for Credit, Debit and Prepaid digital commerce solutions for First Data regions around the world. Mr. Swaminathan brings a wealth of knowledge and experience from Payments, Telecom and Technology domains. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from NIT, India and an MBA degree in Technology Management. He serves as a steering committee member in Payments and Mobile councils and as Co-chair of the Smart Card Alliance Mobile Council. He contributes to various industry forum activities, white papers and webinars and champions emerging payment technologies.

                                                                                                                                                                    Randy Vanderhoof is the Executive Director of the Smart Card Alliance. The Smart Card Alliance is a not-for-profit, multi-industry association of over 200 member firms working to accelerate the widespread acceptance of smart card technology in North America and Latin America. He came to the Alliance in January, 2002 and became the Executive Director in August, 2002. During his tenure as the chief executive, he has directed the transformation of the organization from primarily a networking organization into a diverse, education oriented, international, multi-industry organization that gathers industry stakeholders together to help stimulate the rapid adoption of all forms of smart cards (cards and other form factors) for electronic payments and digital security applications. In December 2008, Randy was named by Security Magazine to the list of the Top 25 Most Influential People in the Security Industry.

                                                                                                                                                                        Jason Weinstein P.E., is the driving force behind the second generation of Clipper, the San Francisco Bay Area’s transit fare payment system that currently processes more than 20 million transactions and $45 million in revenue each month. As the principal program manager for the project, Jason is responsible for all aspects of Clipper system scoping, procurement, contracting and development for the Metropolitan Transportation Commission (MTC). Prior to Clipper, Jason was the principal of toll system operations for the Bay Area Toll Authority (BATA), operator of the region’s FasTrak tolling system used for electronic payment on seven Bay Area toll bridges and an evolving network of express lanes. Jason’s 25-year transportation career includes extensive experience in construction and contract management as well as traffic and toll operations, including 14 years with the California Department of Transportation. Jason has a B.S. in civil engineering from Washington University in St. Louis and is a registered Professional Engineer.

                                                                                                                                                                          David Weir is a Senior Program Coordinator for the Metropolitan Transportation Commission (MTC) in the San Francisco Bay area, working on the Clipper smart card fare payment program that is a joint effort of MTC and Bay Area transit agencies. David concentrates on cardholder and transit operator support, especially in the areas of customer service, communications, and marketing. The Clipper program settles a monthly average of $45 million in revenue among 20+ transit agencies, and has nearly 2 million active card accounts. Prior to joining MTC in September 2008, David was the Deputy Executive Director of the Georgia State Road and Tollway Authority, overseeing toll plaza and customer service center operations. Before entering the transportation field mid-career, David practiced law for over 15 years.
